What if my system crashed?
All mechanical devices will at some point fail, but there is no timetable that can tell you exactly when they will fail. Unfortunately, it is usually when you can least afford the time lost or the cost of repair, that they will fail. If your company's PCs or system crashes, your business can grind to a halt, losing you time and money … even putting your company's future at risk.
PC or system failure can come about from many sources. These include hardware failure (e.g., hard drive failure or a desktop PC or server machine failing to boot), file corruption, operating system failure, accidental deletion by a user, or loss due to theft or destruction of equipment. Additionally, Reconfiguring data from a failed hard drive instead of recovering from a backup is expensive and time consuming. For example, data recovery firms can charge over $100 per hour. And these data recovery efforts don't offer a complete solution-there's no guarantee you will be able to recover all or any of your data.
Viruses are often the culprit in crashes. Each week new viruses spread by email attachments (such as the Melissa virus) threaten to corrupt their unsuspecting victims' files or reformat their hard drives.
But sometimes, just the normal operation of your PC can make it susceptible to crashes. Registry errors and other redundant entries created by the Windows operating system or other software can accumulate and cause big problems. The Windows operating system communicates with its registry dozens of times every second and broken registry keys can noticeably slow your PCs after just a few days and eventually even make them crash. Deleted programs often leave a few Windows registry keys and files littered around and these are potential problems in the making.
If one key PC crashes, or worse yet, your whole system crashes, you need to get it and running quickly for obvious reasons. But, would you know how to fix it? Do you know who would fix it? Do you know when they could fix it? Do you know how much it would cost?
The best answer is not to have them crash in the first place.
With Omni Tech Support (OTS), we will scan your operating system for viruses, spyware, unnecessary registry files and fix them. OTS will load onto your PCs, top-end anti-virus and anti-spam software updated daily. We will perform a weekly remote back up of your files on our site. Should you wish, we will perform daily remote backups for an additional charge. OTS provides 5GB of storage space with the standard agreement, with small extra charges for more space.
With OTS we do our maintenance work overnight (backing up files, updating your protection software, managing your Windows registry), so during your business day your employees can use their PCs to their fullest capacity doing work instead of doing maintenance.
Could I go out of Business?
Yes you could. The loss of data can interrupt how you actually conduct business. If you lose data, this can cause your business to cease functioning. In some cases, such as the loss of a document, it is merely an inconvenience, and results in lost productivity when the document must be re-created. In other cases, such as the loss of a customer database, it could put you out of business. For many businesses, there may also be liability associated with downtime, in addition to lost sales and employee productivity. If your business has clients, key information, such as contacts, preferences and orders can be lost. How do you explain to a customer that you lost their information and can't replace it? Ultimately your customers don't care how or why you lost their information, they just care that you did. Consider this statistic:
Estimates suggest that 80% of small businesses that suffer a serious computer failure cease trading within two years. Will yours be one of them?

How to Control Your IT Costs
Most data backups still use a tape drive to store the data. The problem is that they cost a fortune! The tapes alone are expensive. Alternatives are to store your data backup on another computer on your network or copy it to a CD or DVD writable disk. But, that's work you or someone in your company has to do.
Many companies have their own IT departments, but very few small to mid-sized businesses can afford the luxury of hiring, training, supervising and paying IT personnel even if it's just a single individual. And if you have just a one person IT department, that person is not available around the clock.
Using outside professionals can be expensive regardless of how you do it. You could:
- Have a repair person come to your place of business
- Bring your computer to a computer repair facility
- Speak with a repair person to fix your computer problems over the phone
Either way, repair costs can run over hundreds of dollars for each PC. But, with Omni Tech Support, a small monthly fee can protect your company's PCs and system 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year!
