Have the same problem as below, but even after deleting the outlook.xml file, still get the error message.
HELP????



That did the trick for me too. Had a hard crash/BSOD from AVG 8.5 Free....somehow, that hoarked up outlook.xml and I started getting the "cannot start microsoft office outlook. cannot open the outlook window." error. Killing outlooks.xml and Outlook 2007 is opening and appears to be working fine now...hope this helps someone else..

Deleting Outlook.xml did not work for me as posted here.  From what I recall, and because I have multiple mail profiles on my computer... I tried to delete the .XML file that had the same name as my mail profile.  In my case, I had a profile for my Comcast email account (which would open fine), and another profile my hosted exchange account from Sherweb (failing account).  I backed up all the files in the directory where Outlook.xml was located and deleted Outlook.xml and nothing happened.  I restored the file, and then I deleted herweb.html which corrected the problem.  So for users that have the same issue and cannot get past the "cannot open outlook" issue try this solution also.  Make sure you look for the .xml file that has the same name as the profile you created.

This will return the Navigation Pane to the default and overwrite the corrupt XML file. tis is just a suggestion.. try it at your own risk

Outlook mails for me and other people are very important,consequently sometimes happen bad thing,if so,advise to use next tool-cannot view mail in outlook,it helped me many times and has many capacities,moreover tool can help to extract all files with *.eml, *.vcf and *.txt extensions from *.ost file, when you cannot access your mail account, stored on Microsoft Exchange Server,will quickly scan all hard drives and find it. If current user has only one profile and its data is stored in a *.pst file, the path will be automatically displayed in the dialog box,can convert the data to a file with *.pst extension, that can be opened with any mail client, when cannot view Outlook emails.

The easiest way to eliminate the "Invalid XML, the view cannot be loaded" error is to start Outlook from the Run command with the switch.  This will return the Navigation Pane to the default and overwrite the corrupt XML file.


I tried all the other ways that ppl have suggested...but none worked for me..

i tried all the steps to eliminate "Invalid XML, the view cannot be loaded" error in Outlook The corrupt XML file issue recurs again.....
somethign is wrong with my outlook.exe
