Topic: Hi. I have created a web site using publisher 2007. The n

Hi.  I have created a web site using publisher 2007.  The navigation bars can not be seen by a user who has IE 8.0.  I can see them on IE 7.0.  Is there a compatibility issue bewtween publisher 2007 & IE 8.0?  If so, how do I fix it.  I put the web site in compatability mode on the PC w/ 8.0 and have cleared the cache.  i don't know what else to do.  The web site in question is http://stjohnvillapark.org  thanks!

Hi,

Follow the below steps to try to resolve the compatibility issues between Internet Explorer 8.0 and the publisher 2007.

Step 1: Ungroup the all the groups
1. Open the Publisher file.
2. Click on the first page.
3. Click on the Edit option on the Menu bar and click on Select All option.
4. Click on Arrange  and then Ungroup.
5. Perform steps 1-4 for all the pages in the Publisher File.

Step 2: Upgrade the Office 2007  with SP2
There are some reports stating that after installing SP2 previous version of Publisher cannot be opened.

Let me know if you face any difficulty.

Thanks Lisa.  I ungrouped the first page.  They can now see the links, they just don't work.  I am going to download thw SP2, but I am nervous about the comment you wrote "There are some reports stating that after installing SP2 previous version of Publisher cannot be opened."  Does this mean there is a possibilty that i will never be able to open my document again or is there a fix for that if it happens.    Thanks again!

Lisa, one more question.  I am on the microsoft website and found "2007 Microsoft Office suite Service Pack 2 (SP2)"  Is this what I want t install?  I did not find anything specifically called "publisher SP2".  I noticed that the description for publisher included somethinhg about grouped objects.  Thanks again!

I have the same problem with my websites. Will Microsoft have a patch for Publisher 2007 to fix the problem? If not, it seems Publisher is now useless for web design.
